The College at the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota Winona campus, founded in 1912, is a four-year, co-educational, residential, liberal arts program administered by the De La Salle Christian Brothers. In accord with its Catholic, Lasallian heritage, Saint Mary's emphasizes values as the touchstone of learning, integrity of the individual, and accessible higher education for dedicated students. Graduate and professional programs are offered in Winona, Minneapolis, Rochester, Apple Valley, Minnetonka, sites throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, and at a campus in Nairobi, Kenya.

International study opportunities
Saint Mary's offers several international programs for its students both through its own semester-long programs in London and Florence, and through affiliation and consortial agreements. The International Semesters in London and Florence are open to all majors and offer primarily humanities courses, with opportunity for independent travel. The Internship program works individually with students to arrange overseas internships. Students also have the opportunity to student teach abroad.

College services and facilities
On-campus housing: A variety of housing options are offered for freshmen and upperclassmen, including traditional dormitory, suite and apartment-style living.
Fitness/recreation facilities: Saint Mary's has an indoor ice rink facility, an indoor recreational/fitness center, an indoor pool, an indoor and an outdoor track, multi-purpose courts, a dance studio, and exercise and weight rooms. Outdoor baseball and softball fields were completely renovated in 2007 and a track/soccer complex was installed in 2008. Outdoor recreation also includes a new disc golf course and new ropes course as well as miles of running and cross-country ski trails in the bluffs on campus.
Technology: There are more than 350 computers on campus for student use. All residence rooms have a wired network connection per resident. Wireless networking is also available in each residence hall.
Internships: Saint Mary's supports field exploration and internship experiences as integral parts of its curriculum, enabling students to participate in structured, supervised learning experiences for academic credit, generally off-campus. The internship and field exploration program strives to provide carefully designed experiences which offer a new arena for applying theories and concepts learned in the classroom, as well as opportunities for professional and personal development.
Career services: Career services staff assist students in their career planning by offering guidance and information to those choosing a major, developing career plans, searching for graduate school, or seeking employment opportunities. Programs, activities and individual appointments are offered to assist students in developing a general perspective of life/work planning, as well as evaluating and effectively implementing specific job search strategies.
Counseling and guidance services: The Jay Johnson Wellness Center offers a wide variety of services aimed at helping students realize their potential at Saint Mary's. Included are personal development classes, alcohol and other drug education, personal counseling and development, health services and wellness resources.

High school preparation: High school courses recommended for applicants include four units of English; three units of mathematics; two units each of social sciences and natural science and seven units in other academic electives.
Advanced placement credit: Saint Mary's grants both college credit and advanced standing for successful testing in the International Baccalaureate Program and in the College Board's Advance Placement and College Level Examination Program. In addition, Saint Mary's sponsors the Program for Advanced College Credit for selected high schools.
